poster printing and production
posters – what are they?
Large-format posters and affiches can be found everywhere – in shops, on the streets, at events and other public places. They are usually located in places where there are already many other advertising elements, so the main task of posters – attracting public attention – is particularly challenging.
Posters and affiches are usually printed on 150 to 200 gram thick paper in offset (50+ pieces) or large format digital printing (1+ pieces). The choice of paper type, coating and thickness depends on the location of the posters. They can be located both indoors and outdoors, so it is necessary to use not only the appropriate paper, but also the printing technology.

posters – comments, tips and recommendations
To make it easier for you to print and make posters, we have collected answers to the most popular questions, as well as some professional tips:
- to attract attention, it is recommended to use contrasting colors, geographical elements and large headlines that convey only the most important information. If the design is similar to the environment where it will be located, the poster will simply disappear into the background.
- it is possible to print a double-sided poster in large-format digital printing, but this solution is expensive (due to the special paper and printing equipment) and instead of one double-sided poster, usually two single-sided ones will be cheaper
- in Riga, for outdoor posters in public places, there is a law that they must be printed on special, moisture-resistant poster paper with a blue background
- posters can be laminated on one or both sides for extra protection
- If the posters are regularly placed on the wall, it is recommended to use the “Click” frame – both a more elegant look and the fact that you can change the posters very easily. It is important to remember if the posters are to be placed in frames, important information must not be printed on their edges, as it will disappear behind the edge of the frame
